History[]

Founded in 1626 by Charles I of England, this is the center of civilised activity in this part of the Caribbean.

British rule has been removed from the town during the Civil war of 1642 to 1651, it was taken over by settlers as all forces had to return to England to help with the fighting, leaving Pirates to spread and grow. The English returned a few years later, and established Fort Williamson as an initial outpost while they regain their strenght. Port Cutlass remains a free town and the local government retains control of the trade - and the defences, be it very low on militia to defend it.
